How did I fall in love with writing?
I come from the Carpathian Basin in Central Europe. I was born and grew up in Budapest, Hungary. I fell in love with arts and literature as a child. When we vacationed at my grandparents’ estate in Forest Town, while tending the garden my grandfather enjoyed reciting the poems of Sándor Petőfi, Miklós Radnóti and Attila József, which touched his heart the most during his school days. I was very impressed by the way he spoke with admiration about his school years and childhood. However, my father‘s knowledge and mentality were the most decisive in my life. He taught me to appreciate music, movies, drawing, painting and literature with devotion, enthusiasm and passion. Once he surprised my sister and me with a poem he wrote for us and told us that his father also wrote poems like me. My father thought it was important for us to get to know the best artists and arts of different ages, trends and styles. At the age of twelve, when I started writing, he recommended that I not only read the writings of our old poets, but also familiarize myself with the works of contemporary artists. That’s why my father gave me one of the albums of Attila Valla, a very talented songwriter. Attila Valla’s wonderful lyrics inspired me, gave me dreams, happiness, hope and strength in challenging times. They revealed a fabulous world with so many wonders, which magic immediately mesmerized me and became a part of my life.
