Papilonia, A Caribbean Jungle

A wonderful tropical garden

On this rainy and gloomy Sunday, I decided to set out to discover something new in the city. My friend recommended a special place in the heart of the city that I had not been to before. I visited Papilonia, which is a small tropical garden with small ponds and waterfalls. Similar to the tropical climate, the temperature and humidity are high here.

There are no barriers, you can walk directly in the flight zone of the butterflies and observe them up close. So you have to be careful where you step, as butterflies can rest on the ground. Some quails also cross your path time to time. An old turtle guards one of the small bridges in the garden. Various goldfish swim in the small ponds and butterflies and exotic birds rest and fly everywhere.

In this garden you can even observe the hatching of butterflies. It has two floors, and the entire garden can be seen from the upstairs terrace. Papilonia operates in seven cities in the Czech Republic, all under different names. The one in Brno was called “A Caribbean Jungle”. In Papilonia, we can see many different butterflies from South and Central America, Amazonia, Oceania, Africa or Asia.
